POWDER COATING ALLOY WHEELS BURY
There are quite a few steps to perfect powder coated alloys, all of them crucial for a top result. Here’s a potted explanation of what we do to give your alloys that brand-new showroom look.
The tyre needs to be removed from the wheel first, then it is given a pressure wash which removes all of the accumulated dirt and grime from the surface.
A chemical solution is then used to remove the older paint layers. This gives us a clear surface to work with.
The third step is to sand down any remaining kerb-damage and rough areas. This gives us a smooth surface.
The alloys are then shot blasted to help the powder particles stick to the surface.
We use compressed air and an electrode to make sure that all of the alloy is covered with the powder coating.
Last but not least, the alloy is put into the curing oven and when it comes out, it has a seamless and hard finish. This process gives a long-lasting surface which is resistant to stone chips, wear and tear and other types of street-damage. We usually check your valves and existing trims for damage and re-balance the wheel and refit it to your vehicle.

DIAMOND CUT ALLOY WHEEL REPAIR PROCESS
Diamond cut alloys can make a car’s wheels look extra special and for your local specialist, you don’t need to look any further than Alloy Wheel Repairs – Bury. Get in touch to find out more about our service.
We start by removing your alloys from your car and strip the old paint and lacquer back with a gentle chemical solution.
The alloy is then mounted on to the CNC diamond cut lathe and we program the system to cut the diamond cut surface profile of your alloy wheel.
We apply the colour with either paint or powder coat process and then cure it in the oven.
Your alloy is then remounted on to the CNC machine and it is given the diamond cut finish. We shave tiny amounts from the surface until any damage is removed. The smooth painted surface and a diamond cut two-tone finish is cleaned again and lacquered then there is a last curing in the oven.
Our Bury site can paint, or powder coat your alloys, to match OEM colours. We can match any custom colour where a code is supplied, or to your preferred alloy wheel colour using our wet paint or powder coat process. Ask us about this service and we’ll be happy to help you.
